To chicken?

To buy some chickens or not? That is the question. In preparation to potentially answer that question yes, Tracy and I went to a free North Sydney council chicken workshop. It was excellent. So was the centre where it was held which has this cool tree and their own community chickens. We are planning on chook sharing.

Holiday part 2 - boomerang beach

As the caravan park was booked out after 4 nights, we headed north to Boomerang beach, stopping off at Booti Booti national park for a look at the lake. We stayed at Moby's which was a luxurious house and they had a lovely heated pool. We played tennis every day, it was fantastic although kids prob preferred camping as they did more riding there (even though we did some at Moby's, there were overall less kids racing around on bikes. A great holiday.

Experiences on holidays

Most afternoons we went for a short drive from one mile beach and Bianca and Toby normally fell asleep so Connah would sit I. The car and Jake and I go for little walks, this was my favourite forest.

Though the surprise of the trip were the sand dunes we discovered when looking for somewhere to turn around after doing a drive by of another caravan park. Wholly Dooley, who knew these were just near Newcastle, compete with camel. All the kids want to go back to ride on the camels another time. Me too!

Caravan park holiday

The car was stacked and the trailer loaded (it's hard to fit 5 bikes in the car!!) and we were off to camp as a family for the first time. Turned out to be a fantastic holiday ( I was a bit worries about early waking hours of the kids but they slept slightly longer if anything and it was great to spend so much time outdoors).
Boy have caravan parks changed since last I went. Pool with water slide, kids activities 3 times a day, putt putt golf, tennis and basketball courts. Amazing. We went to one mile beach which was also located next to the beach. Sensational and the kids loved riding their bikes everywhere.

Echidna

We had just returned from our Friday arvo bushwalk when we heard word of an echidna that had been found wandering up the street. We were there for it's release back I to the wild. Nothing bad ever happens from going outside.

Connah's life sized copy by Toby

Connah couldn't sit in his favourite chair last week as it was occupied by a copy of him created by Toby

Flemington markets

Tracy and I decided to visit the fruit markets the other day. It was ok but I think we were there a bit late and most of them had packed up and gone home. So although our parking was free, the produce wasn't reAlly amazing value though we did grab a few bargains.
Everywhere we went, Bianca got free fruit. What a cutie.

Jake's summary of the first few weeks

Bird watching tour for Jake

The Willoughby council does excellent free stuff. A few weeks after moving in, Jake and I went on a 3 hour bird watching tour. It started at the oval just down the hill from us. I don't think I ever would have enrolled without Jake wanting to do it but it was really excellent. Jake was so interested and was out the front helping to spot birds. We saw around 30... I'd have been lucky to see 3 on my own, it helps to know where to look and what each sound they make. Best of all we saw a powerful owl just near the end of our street which we have showed about 20 people. Watch outbid you visit, you may have to go look....

Friday afternoon bushwalks

The festival of Bianca's 4th birthday

A party before the move with lollies a plenty for the lolly bags. The girls party in B's room and in the living room to frozen.
The only woolies cake I got to buy for 4 parties.
The actual day, where we celebrated with  dinner at Kerrie's and we brought a cake of course.. Then had another one with the neighbours the next day at party two. Phew! 4 parties in a month.
Of course not only did Toby have a before and after moving party, so did Bianca. There they all are playing before move.
