So she may be one day (I was) but she sure isn't a vegetarian now. That's a lamb leg.

New 20: Running out of steam - shopping centre
okay okay, I know what you're thinking, that is LAME but hear me out. Shopping is a bit of a drag as far as I'm concerned. I like the end result as in a fridge full of food but I could do without the shopping bit.
Last weekend we didn't get around to shopping on Sat morning as we usually do - Connah working all day (I only go shopping with 3 kids when facing imminent starvation) and Mum and John were here for the morning and I was selling our second car in the afternoon.
By the time Connah came home, I was ready for a break. I really didn't feel like shopping at 6pm last but it was nice to get out of the house and so I forced myself in the opposite direction to which I normally go, upon a neighbour's good advice, went up to Kogorah shopping centre around 6pm - not a busy time at this centre. How did I not know this was so close to me? I left home, was in and out of Woolies and Aldi with the full weekly shop and home within the hour. Score. Go doing new things.
I wonder if it will become like Marrickville Metro - I'd never been here until I went on Mat leave with Jake (aka in the 4 years we'd lived in Arncliffe) and since then have been there at least twice a month.

Oh and in case you're wondering, we did sell the car to the first people who saw it - yippee!!! Well not so much not having a second car, but the associated cost we could do without for now.
Now, I must say whilst my first 15 or so new things came thick and fast, I'm starting to slow down now. Luckily I still have a few up my sleeve, but I'm definitely having to work harder for it now.
Hopefully running faster than I have ever run before will be there in a few months time, I've just this week got stuck into my new training program and it's heaven. Two lots of hills this week. Whoo Hoo.

Another generation
When I was little, I remember playing with Dad's calculator. It had a term of paper and typed the numbers on to it. He'd call out the numbers and I'd type them in. What fun it was. Partly I just liked the little whirring noise as the paper moved up for a new number.
I wonder if that's part of why I went in to accounting. Last night I brought home a calculator. Oh what joy we had this morning. What's not to love about numbers after all. The next generation of accountants is in training.

New 19 run club
I seem to have started to struggle to find new things but I have a couple that I have yet to claim. About 6 weeks ago I went to a Running coaching Clinic. That was definitely a first. It has been filling my head with thoughts every time I have run since.
I'm trying to do two things, increase my number of strides per minute a little and decrease the length of my stride which goes hand in hand with the first one.
I also paid for Kaz, from Run Club and Mind Body Motion in Sydney for a training program from now to the Sydney Half marathon. A stroke of brillance, the training program that is. I've been feeling a little off training since the marathon but this training program has me raring to go. It looks so cool.
Just one small problem. I'm injured. somehow stuffed up my calf running in the soft sand in Culburra. Physio said I should be right to run in a couple of days. that was 3 weeks ago. I had 2 weeks off then did 2 runs ok but had to call for rescue on my mother's day run last Sunday. but hopefully i'll be able to start it soon.
Sure was an amazing coaching clinic. Why didn't it happen 20 years earlier? Ever since I've been running about 15 sec a kilometre faster with no extra effort, in fact I feel less tired. Better late than never I guess!
